Spawn your configured Boss - Unbelievable Custom Monsters bosses directly inside DungeonForge dungeons. Any boss you've built in the /boss menu can be dropped into a dungeon room as a regular mob spawner, wave mob, or full boss encounter.
Usage
Prefix the boss name with ucm: or boss: in any spawner or boss marker:
# MOB_SPAWN marker — spawn a UCM boss as a regular room mob
mob-type: ucm:CaveTroll
count: 1
# BOSS_SPAWN marker — full boss encounter with health bar & phases
boss-type: ucm:DragonKing
boss-name: &4&lThe Dragon King
# WAVE_SPAWNER marker — UCM bosses as wave enemies
mob-types:
- ucm:StoneGuardian
- ucm:FlameWisp
- ZOMBIE
The name after ucm: must match exactly the internal boss name shown in /boss list — this is the file name, not the display name.
Requirements
- Boss (Unbelievable Custom Monsters) installed and enabled
- The boss must already be created via
/bossbefore the dungeon runs - No extra configuration in DungeonForge needed — detection is automatic
How It Works
DungeonForge uses a soft hook (reflection) so the Boss plugin is never required — if it isn't installed, ucm: prefixed mobs simply log a warning and skip. When it is installed, DungeonForge calls Boss's API to spawn the mob at the dungeon instance location.
Compatibility Notes
| Scenario | Result |
|---|---|
| Boss plugin not installed | Warning logged, mob skipped — dungeon continues |
| Boss name doesn't exist | Warning logged: "UCM boss not found: 'Name'" |
| Used in BOSS_SPAWN marker | Full boss encounter: health bar, phases, loot chest all work normally |
| Used with MythicMobs in same dungeon | Fully compatible — each mob resolves independently |
If you're using Typewriter for quests and NPCs alongside Boss (UCM) for monsters, both plugins work independently on the same server. Typewriter handles your NPC/quest flow; DungeonForge spawns your UCM bosses inside instanced dungeon runs. No conflicts.
